Photography at the Porsche Museum

When the Porsche Museum opened in Zuffenhausen, Germany, in 2009, it instantly became one of the most visited museums in the world. With more than 60 years of history behind Porsche and its many iconic cars, it’s no wonder people come from all over to see this museum. I recently had the pleasure of visiting this shrine to engineering excellence and was not disappointed by what I saw. From the moment you enter through its massive glass doors until you leave, your eyes are treated to a feast for the senses that only Porsche could provide.

Walking around the Porsche Museum, I was deeply moved by the beauty and craftsmanship that went into each and every vehicle.

The museum consists of one big modern building where you’ll find many vintage Porsches, along with a showroom featuring more recent models such as the 911 GT3 RS 4.0 limited edition hybrid car (which I was lucky enough to see firsthand).

Sporting my TVR Tour shirt, I felt a kindred spirit with all those who have travelled this path before.

You feel a certain kinship when you’re sporting a vintage sports car shirt in the presence of one, and the feeling is amplified when your shirt is emblazoned with the badge of one of those same cars. In addition to its rich history with sports cars, Porsche also has an affinity for motorsports. This is apparent in its racing history spanning nearly seventy years from Formula One up through GT3 racing today—in fact, it has won more world championships than any other manufacturer in any motorsport category (2,000+ total).

If you have not seen the Porsche Museum yet, be sure to put it on your bucket list.

If you have not seen the Porsche Museum yet, be sure to put it on your bucket list. Located in Stuttgart, Germany, the museum is one of the most famous car museums in the world and was high up on my “to do” list during the TVR Tour.

You can get there by all sorts of public transport, but I guess you can’t beat pitching up in a 4.2l V8 TVR Cerbera and parking in the immaculate car park.

Whether you’re a car enthusiast, Porsche aficionado or simply interested in beautiful design and engineering, the Porsche Museum is worth a visit.

Conclusion

I highly recommend visiting the Porsche Museum. You will not be disappointed!
