Pretty neat email marketing from Babbel in the form of a quiz – designed to re-engage a user whose membership has lapsed.

If you’re not familiar with Babbel, it’s the online tool I wish I had when I had to do modern languages at school. It allows you to learn at your own pace, with verbal and written cues in discreet contextual settings.

Here you’re posed with a problem to solve, but as you’d expect, Babbel manages to sell you still the product if you get the quiz right (yay, you win a gift) or if you get it wrong (yay, you need help with the language).

My favourite German word so far? Meerschweinchen (guinea pig), I wasn’t expecting it in a language course.
