Video work is always a challenge. Yesterday I used Brook Studios which is based in the Champions Business Park (the former site of Champion Sparkplugs) on the Wirral. The studio is easy to find and has more than adequate free parking. The plan for the session was to record some ‘to camera’ videos. This is always tricky to do outside a studio as not only do you need to control lighting (as with any still photography) you need to control the sound as well.
To get the lighting right I had planned on using two sets of Pixapro Daylite 60d mk2 – but in the end settled for using just the one, diffused. I had some minor issues with the fan on the light being picked up by the microphone, but managed to use the Fairlight Learn function in Da Vinci Resolve to remove it.
Wrapped up the session in an hour ready for review of the MVP and had send off the video by the deadline.
